She spent hours carefully studying varying styles and trends, as well as the techniques used by famous brands, hoping to one day fulfil her dream of becoming a professional fashion or jewellery designer.
Ukrainian designer Krista has been passionate about jewellery from a young age, creating her own designs out of her grandmother’s old pieces. After studying metalworking at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, she honed her skills in the workshops of Chicago before launching Imperfect Grace. Inspired by notions of uniqueness and versatility, Krista’s collections are rooted in simple elegance with a timeless edge.
Belgian designer Joke discovered her passion for jewellery as a young girl, mesmerised by the gems in her grandfather’s collection. As a diamond trader and jeweller, his skills inspired Joke to follow in his footsteps and launch her own jewellery brand. Joke Quick is an expression of the designer’s individual personality, forged from the finest raw materials such as gold, silver and diamonds. Influenced by colour and contrast, she creates a stunning range of rings, earrings and necklaces that exude beauty and class. Think sparkling emeralds, and multi-hued pendants glittering with coloured diamonds.
Steven Van der Veken and the team at the rest of the team at the Van der Veken brand only use artisan techniques such as forging, sawing, and filing. They use no machines or casts because it would make the finished product brittle. They believe that quality is of the utmost importance and that it can only be accomplished through outstanding craftmanship.
Mitzi Broadbent, the founder of MitziRocks, strives to make gorgeous, unique pieces for all of her clients – she said: “I want whoever is wearing my jewellery to feel buoyed by it. Jewellery always communicates something to the wearer, and I want it to make them feel cherished, happy, and confident.” Mitzi’s inspiration comes from colours and textures of natural stones, geometric shapes, patterns, art, architecture, and nature.
Family run business, Fantasia by DeSerio, dates back to 1925 when Al DeSerio laboured as one of the top eight diamond setters in the USA. Now working alongside his three sons, Fantasia by DeSerio is renowned for their elaborate fine jewellery designs crafted from the finest platinum, gold and silver.
Guðbjörg sources inspiration from Icelandic flora, fauna and landscape for her Aurum collections, especially the naturally occurring irregular shapes which confound traditional ideas of balance and form. ‘Raven’ is one of the brand's most admired collections; it reflects the strength and mystery surrounding the majestic creature through intricate designs created to emulate the natural pattern of a raven’s feathers.
In 2017, driven by a desire to make women dream and feel pure emotions through elegant, unique and timeless creations, Marco founded his brand, “Marco Dell’Omo”, and launched his first iconic jewel: Ocean Drop. The inspiration for the Ocean Drop fine jewellery collection comes from the idea that each of us is a unique drop in the Ocean. Every piece in the collection reminds you of your own uniqueness.
